That's a new one. In Washington DC you don't need a detector. When a speed camera is setup...there are additional horizontal lines in the street, a clear indiciation that a camera is setup. It's so easy to spot them. Though they do have vans now parked on the side of the road too. Get yourself the license plate cover that makes your tag unreadable unless your directly behind it.
